December 23, 2018 - PINEHURST, N.C., USA - The waning gibbous moon sets over the Donald Padgett Learning Center, Pinehurst Golf Academy at the Pinehurst Resort. The December full moon, that occurred on Dec. 22, is often called the Full Cold Moon according to the Old Farmer's Almanac. It is the last full moon for 2018. This celestial event coincided one day after the Winter Solstice. The pairing of these two events one day apart will not occur again until 2029. (© 2018 Timothy L. Hale/ZUMA Wire)
